Elizabeth is a director in FTP’s public affairs practice. She advises clients on strategic communications and leads media relations activities, from reporter engagement to earned media content development and placement.
She is a trusted strategist with proven success implementing winning campaign strategies across issue areas, including complex energy policy to challenging trade and other high-stakes issues. Her work is grounded in close collaboration with colleagues and clients alike, enabling her to quickly master tough topics and craft tailored strategies that advance each client’s goals.
Before joining FTP, Elizabeth managed constituent engagement and supported external communications for Congressman David Joyce (R-OH), serving on Capitol Hill for nearly three years.
Ryan is a partner in the federal government relations and public affairs practices. Prior to joining FTP, Ryan was a senior advisor to Senate Democratic Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY), helping to shape policy development and issue strategy. While leading the Senate Democratic Policy and Communications Center (DPCC), he built and directed campaigns integrating policy analysis, legislative action, media outreach, public opinion research, rapid response, and stakeholder engagement on topics including economic policy, budget and tax, implementation of the Affordable Care Act, and immigration reform, among others. Most recently, he served as the assistant Democratic secretary, counseling senators on how to use the rules and precedents of the Senate to accomplish their goals.
Previously, Ryan served as the director of the economic program at Third Way, where he helped to guide the organization’s efforts on an array of issues tied to economic growth and middle-class success. In that role, he organized public policy forums and often appeared on national media outlets to represent the organization’s views and comment on political matters. He was also able to successfully engage members of Congress, resulting in several policy proposals being introduced as legislation and enacted.
Ryan served as legislative director for Representative John Hall (D-NY) and worked in the office of Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY) as the legislative assistant overseeing energy policy, national defense issues, foreign affairs, and agriculture. In those roles he was able to repeatedly work with bipartisan coalitions to achieve results.
In 2006, Ryan served as policy director during Senator Sheldon Whitehouse’s (D-RI) successful campaign in Rhode Island, where he was responsible for policy briefing and development, issue research, and rapid response support. In his time at FTP, Ryan has partnered with clients that run the gamut from small, mission-driven non-profits to Fortune 500 companies to achieve their goals through direct advocacy and creative communications.
Rob is the firm’s managing partner. He leads the firm’s overall management, including client service, operational excellence, and talent development. He brings deep expertise in external relations, strategic communications, and organizational leadership, and is skilled at using communications and advocacy programs to bolster business goals, raise individual and corporate profiles, and achieve public policy objectives.
Prior to joining FTP, Robert served as chief of external affairs at the National Park Foundation (NPF). At NPF, he led the team responsible for government relations, communications, marketing, and corporate partnerships, retooling the organization’s external affairs function to better support its mission and growth. NPF initiatives under Robert’s leadership included congressional passage of landmark conservation legislation, the development of a new NPF brand platform (Wonder Calls), creation of a dedicated social media function, realignment of the corporate partnership program, and the creation of a nationwide advertising campaign. The Foundation raises approximately $100 million per year to protect and enhance the nation’s national parks and connect more people to them.
Earlier in his career, Robert was the president of Ogilvy Washington for 15 years where he was responsible for all aspects of this multi-disciplinary Ogilvy & Mather office, including public relations and public affairs, advertising, and the nation’s leading social marketing practice. Ogilvy Washington’s clients included Fortune 100 companies, industry trade associations, and key federal agencies. Under Robert’s leadership, Ogilvy Washington became the fastest growing and most profitable office across Ogilvy’s global public relations network.
While still responsible for the day-to-day operations of Ogilvy Washington, Robert was appointed North American CEO for Ogilvy Public Relations. In this capacity, Robert managed seven offices across the United States, a nationwide P&L of $150 million, and a team of approximately 500 people. Prior to assuming leadership of the Washington office, Robert served as the head of Ogilvy PR’s San Francisco office.
Robert has also had extensive experience in the federal government, having served in President George H.W. Bush’s (R) administration as the executive assistant to U.S. Energy Secretary James D. Watkins and, subsequently, as deputy assistant secretary at the Department of Energy where he managed an expansive federal budget, career employees, and government programs. Robert has also worked abroad in Saudi Arabia where he was a member of a team that pioneered the development and implementation of a kingdom-wide public health program.
Robert has been recognized as a leader in his field, including induction into the Public Relations Society of America’s National Capital Chapter Hall of Fame and the PRNews Hall of Fame. A native Washingtonian, he is a past chair of the Board of Trustees for the Lab School of Washington and has served on the Board of Trustees of The Yellowstone Park Foundation.
Jocelyn is a senior director in FTP’s public affairs practice. She manages integrated campaigns spanning traditional communications, digital, field, and creative efforts for clients in highly regulated industries. Her expertise spans federal health policy, with a focus on coverage, access, and regulatory strategy.
Prior to joining FTP, Jocelyn served in the healthcare practice at Ketchum, where she supported corporate affairs and health equity efforts for global pharmaceutical accounts. Her work contributed to being recognized with the PR Week “Best Pharma Product Launch” award with Best-in-Class Communications distinction.
Jocelyn began her career doing media relations, where she secured media placements for healthcare, fintech, and tech clients across local, trade, and national outlets. Jocelyn holds a B.S. in Public Relations from the University of Florida.
Erin is a designer and art director on FTP’s creative team, specializing in visual communication. With a passion for storytelling, he has over 15 years of experience in brand design and development, creative direction, strategic communication, and political strategy.
From 2016 to 2025, Erin was a senior designer at Stand Together, the Charles Koch-backed group of business leaders, philanthropists, community organizations, and political activists. There he led the brand relaunch of Americans for Prosperity, Concerned Veterans for America, and several venture capital firms.
Before joining Stand Together, Erin was a design strategist at Throughline, Inc., a Washington, D.C.-based creative agency, where he supported clients at Deloitte and the U.S. Postal Service. He also previously served as the design director at the U.S. House Republican Conference under Chairwoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA). In that role, Erin led design for the National Defense Authorization Act, the Republican Response to the State of the Union, the House Republican Budget, major media events, and scores of other legislative efforts.
Daniel serves as a senior vice president of policy and media strategy on FTP’s public affairs team. He is a trusted media relations and strategic communications advisor with government, public relations, and professional services industry experience. At FTP, Daniel helps clients protect reputations, advance interests, and establish themselves as credible and influential voices on the issues that matter most. He leads coalitions, devises media strategies, and offers incisive internal and external communications counsel. Before joining FTP, he led proactive media relations efforts and helped manage crisis communications for Deloitte’s government and public services practice.
For seven years prior, Daniel served as a senior communications advisor and spokesperson for Congressman John Sarbanes (D-MD). In that role, he led media relations, external communications, and social media activities to elevate the Congressman’s profile and spotlight work on democracy reform, healthcare, energy, climate, and other major issues.
Before serving on Capitol Hill, Daniel worked at Powell Tate/Weber Shandwick, supporting earned media and digital advocacy campaigns for corporate, association, and nonprofit clients.
Ethan Hicks is a junior visual designer on FTP’s creative team, where he helps bring complex public affairs campaigns to life through thoughtful, modern creative. He builds cohesive visual systems across social, web, and paid media, combining a strong eye for typography, color, and layout with a practical understanding of how design performs in fast-paced advocacy and communications environments.
At FTP, Ethan has steadily expanded his role from executional production work to contributing to end-to-end creative concepts, collaborating closely with strategists and account teams to translate policy goals into clear, engaging visuals. He is especially passionate about pushing design trends forward in ways that feel accessible and strategic — testing new formats, motion, and visual languages that still support client objectives.
Before joining FTP, Ethan refined his craft by producing digital ads and branding campaigns for several advertising and press agencies in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, deepening his experience with cross-channel storytelling and brand consistency. Outside of work, he channels his creativity into writing music, exploring the city on foot, and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
Colleen is an executive vice president in FTP’s public affairs practice. She brings more than two decades of experience leading integrated communications and public affairs campaigns at the federal, state, and local levels for a diverse portfolio of clients, including Fortune 50 companies, nonprofit organizations, and trade associations. She oversees FTP’s 50‑state field network, guiding strategy and execution across markets.
Prior to joining FTP, Colleen founded and led Elevation Advocacy, a boutique public affairs firm. Earlier in her career, she served as vice president of public affairs at Capitol Direct Messaging, where she directed issue advocacy campaigns for clients across multiple industries, including AARP and Ford Motor Company.
Colleen’s expertise centers on advancing complex issue advocacy efforts at the state and local level, leveraging grasstops engagement, strategic communications, and targeted voter outreach to drive legislative and regulatory outcomes. She holds a B.A. in Political Science from Loyola University Maryland and also studied at Newcastle University in the United Kingdom. Colleen lives in Alexandria, Virginia, with her husband and son.
Bob is a partner in FTP’s public affairs and government relations practices. He joined the firm in 2017 after serving two terms in the U.S. House of Representatives representing Illinois’s 10th Congressional District, where he became known for pragmatic leadership, a bipartisan approach to governance, and a commitment to tax reform, health care improvements, and economic growth. A dedicated public servant and small‑business owner, Bob built a reputation as an independent voice in Congress focused on practical solutions.
During his time in Congress, Bob prioritized tax reform to support small businesses and middle‑class families. Drawing on firsthand experience as a business owner, he championed policies that encouraged growth, job creation, and economic stability, supporting legislation to simplify the tax code, reduce burdens on small businesses, and provide incentives for innovation and investment. He also worked to ensure greater financial security for families, advocating for middle‑class tax relief and responsible fiscal policies to reduce the national deficit.
Bob was a key advocate for practical health care reform focused on affordability, accessibility, and innovation. He opposed efforts that would strip protections from individuals with pre‑existing conditions and supported bipartisan efforts to strengthen health care markets, lower prescription drug costs, and expand choices for families and employers, emphasizing patient‑centered solutions and high‑quality, affordable care.
As chairman of the Tuesday Group, a caucus of moderate Republican lawmakers, Bob helped foster bipartisan cooperation in Congress. He worked to bridge the gap between Republicans and Democrats and played a key role in shaping legislation on infrastructure, economic policy, and government transparency. Prior to being elected to Congress, Bob served as investigative counsel for the House Government Reform and Oversight Committee and ran a small business. He holds a B.A. from Denison University, a J.D. from Indiana University, and an M.B.A. from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, and lives on the North Shore of Chicago with his wife, Danielle, and their three children.
Kevin is a director in FTP’s public affairs practice, where he advises clients on campaigns that align policy goals, stakeholder engagement, and clear messaging. He helps organizations navigate high stakes policy, political, and reputational challenges through clear strategy and disciplined execution.
Prior to joining FTP, Kevin worked at Ketchum, supporting federal health communications for agencies across the Department of Health and Human Services. Since joining the firm, he has worked across issues such as health, technology, energy, and defense, with a focus on campaign strategy, partner engagement, and messaging that supports clients’ objectives.
